Olivia Rodrigo is erg populair onder de jeugd, en GELUKKIG wordt er nog gerockt in 2023.

Als 90s kid raakt dit soort muziek een nostalgische snaar bij me. Het is een echte “American-Pie-achtige-high-school-rock-revival” wat mij betreft.

De gitaarriff wordt zo grotendeels het hele nummer doorgespeeld, maar de opbouw in het nummer zorgt ervoor dat het nooit saai wordt.

Veel enkele noten met een goeie sound zorgen ervoor dat power chords overbodig zijn hier.

Voor die echte punkrock feel zou ik aanraden het grootste deel van het nummer alleen met downstrokes te spelen.

Bij de gitaarsolo wordt er gebruik gemaakt van het bekende whammy pedaal, vooral bekend van Tom Morello van Rage Against The Machine.

Als je deze instelt op + 1 octaaf dan kan je de sound het beste nabootsen. Dit soort solo’s zijn lastig uit te schrijven, zeker omdat er tussendoor ook allerlei random noise wordt gespeeld.
