Billy Jean - Michael Jackson

Deze Michael Jackson klassieker is het leukst om met zijn tweeën te spelen. Op veel plekken kan de één namelijk de bas lijn spelen en de ander het hoge melodietje. Als je in het refrein besluit de akkoorden te spelen krijg je te maken met demp techniek, aangegeven met kruisjes in de tab. Dit doe je door het akkoord met je linkerhand zacht in te drukken tot je bij het aanslaan van de snaren geen noten hoort maar slechts een ritmische “tsjak”. Verderop in het nummer, namelijk in het tweede refrein en de gitaarsolo gaat dit nog een stap verder waar je deze techniek combineert met het aanslaan van één noot. Dus je slaat meerdere snaren aan waarvan je er één laat doorklinken en de anderen dempt. Let op: de normale gitaarpartij speel je met de capo op 2, de solopartij zonder capo.

Als je met de opname meespeelt zal je merken dat er iets niet zuiver klinkt. De opname staat namelijk hoger gestemd, dus om mee te spelen moet je je gitaar omhoog stemmen naar 445 Hz. Op het schermpje van een goed stemapparaatje zie je misschien het getal 440 staan. Als je die naar 445 aanpast en daarop stemt kan je meespelen. Zonder deze functie kan je ook een programma als Amazing Slow Downer gebruiken om de opname in toonhoogte te verlagen.
