De main riff bestaat uit akkoorden die opgebroken in losse noten worden aangeslagen (arpeggios). Sla de akkoorden visueel op in je geheugen en zet ze neer voordat je begint met spelen. Gebruik alternate picking en een hammer on/ pull of voor het triool op de derde tel.

Frusciante gebruikt zijn duim voor akkoorden met basnoot op de E snaar net als zijn grote held Jimi Hendrix. Ook in het chorus van dit nummer dus. Deze techniek geeft je de beschikking over je pink en biedt zo een heleboel nieuwe mogelijkheden. Erg leuk en handig om aan te leren.
