Summer’s End - John Prine

‘Summer’s End’ van John Prine is een mooi akoestisch nummer met een melancholisch karakter. Het liedje is ook een ideale oefening! Je hebt hier voor geen plectrum nodig, want John Prine gebruikt de ‘Travis picking’-techniek doorheen heel het nummer. Het is een vast patroon dat je met je plectrumhand aanhoudt, maar dan uiteraard met een fingerpicking-techniek. Bij ‘Travis picking’ zorg je ervoor dat je duim op elke tel een noot speelt, waardoor de tokkel een bijna dubbel karakter krijgt: het lijkt alsof er twee gitaren spelen!
